Pacific Rim Job

Holly Conrad not featured in this image (though she should be).
Guillermo del Toro's highly anticipated Pacific Rim finally had an official trailer debut online earlier today, and after viewing it one is perhaps a) grateful that he didn't end up directing The Hobbit, and b) wondering why he would leave The Hobbit in favor of directing CGI monsters and robots duking it out onscreen with all the subtly of a PS3 video game.

Frontal Assault Friday: The Twilight Of Lincoln Karenina

The Frontal Assault returns just in time for the beginning of the cinematic holiday season, loaded down with plenty of gift wrapped snark for your reading pleasure.  If you somehow survived last weekend's homo erotic adventures with James Bond (Centauri's less than flattering review HERE), you'd better stock up on lube now for the three cinematic butt plugs ready to pound you hard at your local cinema.  Onward...

Star Wars: The Transfer Of Cinematic Power

Skyfall: The Connery / Moore Transition

2 - Average Participation (No Citation Awarded)

Do yourself a huge favor and forget everything you're hearing about "Skyfall" being the best Bond film ever. While the film is a decent, standard entry in the franchise, whomever started this particular trend of review for this film deserves to have their testicles beaten with a boat rope a'la the torture scene in the far superior "Casino Royale".

A Flight Worth Taking

4 = Medal Of Honor

Whatever higher power convinced Robert Zemeckis to return to live action, honest-to-God filmmaking deserves our thanks. Not only does this mean that we (at the very least) get a slowdown in the Godawful, soulless, terrifying looking computer animation that he has been obsessed with making for the past ten years...but it also means that we get to welcome a prodigal son back into the fold.

Cannibal Holocaust: The Ultimate Found Footage

During this Halloween season you'll find no shortage of horror related “found footage” films floating around. Quest items like the Paranormal Activity and REC series are notable fan favorites whose shaky cam origins can be traced back to 1999's box office hit, The Blair Witch Project.
